Case Studies from Stainless Structurals

At Stainless Stucturals America, we realize the importance of providing architects, engineers, designers, fabricators and more with helpful resources to use in designing with steel profiles. With that in mind, we have added a brand new case study section to our website.

Specific Product Applications

Via West 57 with stainless steel beam

innovative design of Manhattan Pyramid

One of the major goals of our business development team is to educate our clients on our structural steel profiles in stainless and carbon steel. We have two accredited lunch and learn courses for both architects and engineers that highlight our production technologies, product portfolio, and industry applications. One of the most popular questions is “where are your products primarily used?” The generic answer is that stainless steel profiles are used in industrial or architectural applications in corrosive environments and carbon steel are for AESS applications or in non-corrosive environments.

While this answer is true, we want to go more in-depth and provide specific details for designers. To do this, we have created a case study section found on the Resources page at stainless-structurals.com. Each case study will discuss in detail the project specifics including the background, the challenge, and the profile solution. Our first case study goes in depth on the custom laser welded profiles we produced out of 316/L stainless steel for the Via 57 West building in New York City. Design Tools and More

Our blog and case study sections are great for information on projects and materials. We also have several design tools to help engineers and architects work with our stainless and carbon steel profiles. For our stainless steel structural profiles, the section properties for standard beams, channels, angles and tees are available to download directly from our website. We also have Revit files available to download for all of the standard shapes as well as square and rectangle tubing. Both the section properties and Revit files were developed specifically for our sharp cornered steel profiles. Also available are the structural stainless steel design tables published in accordance with the AISC, Leed documents, brochures, industry links and more. All of these can be found here.
