Which hand is which?

Levers for handlesets and non-turning locks need to be chosen based upon which direction your door opens. Does it open to the left or to the right? Schlage’s lever model numbers are conveniently marked on the product packaging as left handed (LH) or right handed (RH), accordingly, to help you choose the lever that’s right for your door. For straight levers, like the Schlage Latitude lever, handing does not apply.

With so many lever designs to choose from, a little preparation prior to purchase goes a long way. When heading to the hardware store, it may be helpful to bring your old door hardware for reference.
